I can convert your existing acoustic instrument into an electric instrument in several ways for you.
I can supply pickups that you can fit or have fitted to your existing acoustic instrument that do not interfere with the acoustic sound. In this way you can still play acoustically and also play electric. The pickups that I would fit in this case listen to both the strings and to the overall acoustic sound. You then have a single instrument that is perfect for both acoustic and electric playing.
This is a cheaper option and is found more acceptable by players who wish to retain either their existing classical instrument or who do not want to have an electric instrument that looks different from the classically acceptable violin shape.
Alternatively I can convert your acoustic instrument into a dedicated electric instrument. This will give you a dedicated electric only instrument. By fitting a pickup that only listens to the strings, which does not rely on a good acoustic sound, you can turn an otherwise poor instrument into a perfect electric instrument.
This option can be taken a stage further by fitting all
the electrics (cables, Jack Socket) inside the instrument. Various holes have to be
drilled through the top plate and the ribs, Strengthening patches are fitted to preserve
the integrity of the instrument and then the body can be sprayed any colour that you
require. Obviously any repair work required can be carried out including crack repairs,
new pegs and fingerboard etc. to turn a cheap acoustic instrument into a dedicated and
fine electric violin. This option is worth considering if you have a spare instrument that
is structurally sound which can be upgraded.
